2008 start What a Ride!
This note from a Commerce Bank Five Boro Bike Tour rider says it all: "2008 was the best tour ever. Everything worked great! Bike train, ferry service, great coordination of everything. Congrats! By the way, what did you guys do to get the great weather?" Thanks to the 30,000 of you who rode, the 1,500 volunteers, and the many event sponsors and partners for the 31st Tour! New Long Island Ride June 29
Explore Long Island's famed North Shore on Bike New York's inaugural Long Island Harbors Ride. The Harlem Valley Rail Ride (July 27) and Twin Lights Ride (September 28) are back on tap too. All offer plenty of mileage choices including group rides, beautiful scenery on quiet roads, and extensive support. Ride with us throughout the year!

Ready to toss the training wheels? Take your kids to a free Bike New York class to learn the basics of biking in a safe, social setting. Sessions take place throughout the city on Saturdays in May. Teach Your Child to Ride a Bike >

Join Bike New York and historian David Herlihy for an illustrated lecture, "A Cyclist's History of New York." Learn about the bike crazes of the 1860s and 1890s, a milestone court case for cyclists' rights, standing-room-only Six Day Races at Madison Square Garden, and lots more.
