Biking will takes Center Stage at Bike Expo New York.

Bike Expo New York (BE NY) is an annual celebration of bicycle growth in New York City and beyond, providing a perfect opportunity for residents and visitors to take an unprecedented look at urban cycling against the backdrop of New York City.  With more than 95 brands and 43,000+ attendees, the 2012 BE NY was the largest inaugural consumer bike expo in the United States.

In addition to exhibitors from across the bicycle industry, BE NY is jam-packed with free programing throughout the three day event.  From classes and fashion shows to brand presentations and BMX showcases, BE NY spans the breadth of the bicycle community!

BE NY is also home to rider packet pickup for the TD Five Boro Bike Tour.  Tour participants pass beneath a suspended Verrazano Bridge backdrop to receive their materials; a fitting foresight on the epic ride following immediately following BE NY.

With more than 700 miles of bike lanes, expanding bicycle education programs and the imminent launch of bike share, New York is now a world class cycling city.  Bike Expo New York was developed in this spirit, to not only highlight biking, but to showcase its growth in the greatest city in the world!

Concept and Design

From the street grid to the signage, BE NY is designed to emulate its host city in intimate detail.  Beyond the buzz of activity, visitors will find themselves walking through crosswalks and simulated bike lanes as they stroll from booth to booth.  Iconic images of the city are posted throughout the space, while recognizable street signs (from each borough) direct visitors throughout the event.   See below to see the evolution of Bike New York from concept to reality!
