Volunteer Opportunities

Are you an avid cyclist looking for a great way to share your cycling passion and skills with others? Are you looking for an effective, hands-on way to promote cycling? Volunteer with Bike New York's Bicycle Education Program!

Who makes a great volunteer?
  • Cycling enthusiasts who can model safe, skillful bicycling
  • Teachers, trainers, public speakers, and others who are comfortable speaking before a group
  • People who enjoy working with children and teenagers
  • People like those featured in our volunteer profile.
Our volunteer opportunities include helping with short, one-time after-school and weekend events, like Learn to Ride--Kids, day-long weekend classes, on-going after-school programs, and summer camp programs. These volunteer opportunities are great for retirees who are cycling enthusiasts, teachers with free-time available in the summer, and avid cyclists who want to take a break from weekend club rides occasionally to get others involved in cycling.

Volunteer Trainings

Bike New York staff provide volunteers with thorough, engaging training sessions throughout the year to keep them up to date on new methods, techniques, and Bike Ed programs. Additionally, volunteers are recognized for their efforts through quality thank-you gifts. We greatly appreciate volunteer help. Please RSVP if you wish to attend a training session.
