Trainings and Consulting

Bike New York's free trainings explain all you need to know in order to bring cycling programs to your community, whether you are a teacher, Parks and Recreation employee, Safe Routes to School coordinator, or community leader. What's more, once you attend a training, you will be eligible for kits of complimentary program materials to help you get started.

Bike New York's staff are certified Cycling Instructors by the League of American Bicyclists. They are available to run free instructor trainings in the metropolitan New York area. Areas of expertise include:
  • Adult cycling skills
  • Bicycle commuting
  • Pre-driver's ed traffic skills for young adults
  • Learn-to-ride for children and parents
  • Road-sharing skills for motorists
  • Curriculum development
Bike New York works with many organizations, such as the Children's Aid Society, City of New York Parks & Recreation and Partnership for Parks, CUNY undergraduate and graduate education programs, Girl Scouts of Greater New York, NY and NJ Departments of Transportation, NY and NJ school districts, NY and NJ Associations for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, and Recycle-A-Bicycle.

The Bicycle Education Program also provides direct support to groups including Recycle-A-Bicycle, a youth environmental education and job training program, and the Department of Transportation Traffic Safety for NYC, which is dedicated to safety improvements to NYC streets and programs for city residents.
