Learn to Ride
The most basic training, Learn to Ride prepares Educators to offer an easy, safe, effective session for anybody learning to ride a bike. Trainees learn the "balancing first" method along with how to adjust helmets, remove pedals and training wheels, pump up tires, and adjust seats.
Training length: 2 hours
Target audience: First-third grade teachers, PE teachers, Parks and Recreation staff, scout leaders

Bike Driver's Ed Level 1
Once children learn how to ride a bicycle, they need to learn how to ride safely. Bike Driver's Ed Level 1 prepares Educators to introduce fundamental traffic rules to young cyclists and their parents. This training covers the "need to know" rules of cycling as well as how to avoid the hazards most common to young bicyclists.
Training length: 4 hours
Target audience: Elementary school teachers, PE teachers, Parks and Recreation staff, scout leaders
Bike Driver's Ed Level 2
The Bike Driver's Ed Level 2 training equips Educators to implement a multi-session bicycle skills program for pre-teen and teen cyclists, such as for use in PE classes, after-school programs, or summer camps. Educators will be prepared to teach teens and pre-teens how to drive their bicycles as vehicles on the road. Participants gain an understanding of vehicular traffic rules and cyclists' responsibilities, proper bike and helmet fit, use of gears and brakes, skills drills, and basic repair and maintenance.
Training length: 8 hours
Target audience: Fourth-sixth grade and junior high teachers, PE teachers, Parks and Recreation staff, camp staff
Share the Road
Bike New York's only course aimed at educating motorists, Share the Road explains to automobile driver's ed instructors how they can incorporate bicycle awareness into their classes. Training participants receive a complimentary "Share the Road" PowerPoint presentation and learn how to address common questions and misconceptions regarding cyclists.
Training length: 2 hours
Target audience: Driver's education instructors, organizations with vehicle fleets and in-house driver training programs, community leaders with an interest in motorists' awareness
