Pedal Stops

Pedal Stops 2012

Overview:

All 2012 Pedal Stops will take place on the same weekend, thereby allowing Bike New York to create a Pedal Stop-to-Stop route sheet. The dates are:

June 16 – 17
10a.m.-4p.m.		 July 21 – 22
10a.m.-4p.m.		 August 18 – 19
10a.m.-4p.m.		 September 15 – 16
10a.m.-4p.m.

Please note, That The Riverside Park Pedal Stop will open at 12:00p.m. and remain open until 4:00p.m.

Brooklyn Bridge Park:

Location: The Pedal Stop for Brooklyn Bridge Park will be located in the vehicular turnaround area across from the intersection of Furman St. & Doughty St. This is the same location as in 2011.

Give-a-ways: In addition to Kind Bars and water those who visit the Pedal Stops will receive, NYC Bike Maps & Bike Smart Guidelines (provided by DOT), Regional Ride Post Cards, and Bike New York Education pamphlets. We will also hand out Bike New York ride smart wristbands and information on Brooklyn Bridge Park to our visitors.

Rides- We have several suggested routes from BBP to offer to our riders, along with a Pedal Stop-to-Stop ride route.

Repair- Recycle a Bicycle will be on hand on from 11am-3pm to provide light bike repair. Customers will have to pay for any parts needed. Customers with more in-depth repairs may be directed to the RAB shop.

Refreshments-Kind Bars and cold water will be available for a mid ride snack.

 

Riverside Park:

Location: The Pedal Stop for Riverside Park will be located in the basketball court adjacent to roughly 71st St. This is the same location as in 2011, and is located adjacent to Bike & Roll.  Please note, That The Riverside Park Pedal Stop will open at 12:00p.m. and remain open until 4:00p.m.

Give-a-ways: In addition to Kind Bars and water those who visit the Pedal Stops will receive, NYC Bike Maps & Bike Smart Guidelines (provided by DOT), Regional Ride Post Cards, and Bike New York Education pamphlets. We will also hand out Bike New York ride smart wristbands and information on Riverside Park to our visitors.

Rides- We have several suggested routes from Riverside Park to offer to our riders, along with a Pedal Stop-to-Stop ride route. We will also provide additional routes to the GWB and the Palisades.

Repair- Bike & Roll will be assisting with bike maintenance.

Refreshments-Kind Bars and cold water will be available for a mid ride snack.

Pier 54

Location: Pier 54 along the Hudson River Greenway. The pedal stop is parallel with west 13th Street along 11th Avenue.

Give-a-ways: In addition to Kind Bars and water those who visit the Pedal Stops will receive, NYC Bike Maps & Bike Smart Guidelines (provided by DOT), Regional Ride Post Cards, and Bike New York Education pamphlets. We will also hand out Bike New York ride smart wristbands and information on Hudson River Park to our visitors.

Rides- Bike New York volunteers will be able to direct you to popular routes between Pier 54 and other pedal stops throughout the city.

Repair- If your tires are feeling a little too low, stop by for a pump of fresh air!

Refreshments- Kind Bars will be available for a mid ride snack.
