Tasty snacks helped fuel riders for 42 miles. Here, a sample of Snapple's green tea. This group spent a bit more time preparing their Tour-day outfits than most. An optional new scenic loop from the Festival through Fort Wadsworth afforded magnificent views of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and New York Harbor.

Due to mechanical problems on two ferries, there was a considerable wait to board at the end of the day. Delay or no, the ferry ride across New York Harbor provides a magnificent end to the Tour.
