Summer's Most Scenic Ride: Harlem Valley Rail Ride

July 27, 2008
Start/Finish: Millerton, Dutchess County, NY

Enjoy a fully supported ride on the car-free Harlem Valley Rail Trail and through the scenic countryside in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. The Harlem Valley Rail Ride is part of a full weekend of activities and features:
  • Mileage choices for all skill levels, 22-100 miles
  • Educational rides on Saturday and Sunday
  • Hill Climb Time Trial for competitive riders
  • Frequent rest areas and full SAG support
  • Free souvenir for the first 1,500 registrants
  • Optional transportation between Manhattan and Millerton.
The shorter rides are perfect for families with children, beginning cyclists, and those who are looking for a fun ride that's not too strenuous. The 55-, 75-, and 100-mile choices require more effort. Routes >

After the ride, we welcome everyone back to town with a Festival full of activities for cyclists and area residents alike: food, massage, music, and more. Plus, everyone gets to cool off in the town pool!

The day before the ride, we are offering different rides for those who are in the area or who wish to make a weekend trip. Ride choices vary from 22 to 75 miles. Saturday Activities >
