Due to enhanced security measures, backpacks, panniers and hydration packs are not permitted in the 2013 TD Five Boro Bike Tour. Restricted items will be confiscated, and not returned. Water bottles are permitted, and there are hydration stations located along the Tour to refill your bottles.

Frequently Asked Questions
How big can a fanny pack/handlebar/underseat bag be?
The bag can be up to 420 cubic inches — to calculate cubic inches, multiply the three sides. So a 7″x4″x10″ bag is fine (280 cubic inches) but a 7″x7″x10″ bag is not (490 cubic inches).
May I bring more than one bag?
Yes, as long as the bags all fit the size requirements, you can bring a fanny pack, a handlebar and an underseat bag.
May I bring a bladder in my fanny pack/a fanny pack hydration system?
Yes, as long as it is less than 420 cubic inches.
Are there refunds for the Tour?
All tour fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
May I use a trunk bag on top of my rear rack?
Yes, if it fits the size requirements.
May I bungee clothing to the top of my rear rack?
May I use a clear plastic bag to carry items?
Yes, you may put your clothes in a clear, plastic, gallon-sized bag and fasten them to your bike frame.
What about clear backpacks/drawstring bags/panniers?
No, clear backpacks/drawstring bags/panniers are not permitted.
Can I bring a drawstring bag or a cloth shopping bag?
No, these types of bags are not permitted.
Can I bring a bike basket?
No, bike baskets are not permitted.
Can I bring a camera bag?
Camera bags that are waist packs/fanny packs are permitted. Larger camera bags are not.
Can I bring a diaper bag for my child?
No. You may bring a diaper in your trailer, but no bags are permitted except for small frame bags and fanny packs.
